Food & Beverage · Cold-chain compliance
A breach you catch at 2 a.m. saves the shipment. One you catch at 8 a.m. doesn't.
Banao builds cold-chain compliance systems that log temperature, humidity, and dwell time across every node — warehouse, transit, and distribution — and alert the right person before a breach becomes a write-off.
This is not a dashboard bolt-on. It is sensor integration, rules engine, alert routing, and audit log, wired into your WMS, ERP, and carrier data. Regulators and retail buyers get the traceability report they demand.

What we build
What a Banao cold-chain deployment covers
Compliance failures usually happen at the handoff — between carrier, dock, and warehouse. Our system monitors each handoff and routes alerts before a breach escalates.
Sensor ingestion across any hardware
We ingest from IoT temperature loggers, reefer unit telemetry, and third-party carrier data over MQTT, HTTP, and EDI — no dependency on a single device vendor.
Configurable excursion rules per SKU
Different products have different safe ranges and dwell-time limits. Rules are set per product category and overridden at the shipment level — no one-size-fits-all threshold that misses real problems.
Alert routing that reaches the right person
A warehouse dock alert goes to the shift manager; a carrier excursion alert goes to the logistics team and the supplier. Roles are configurable — the alert does not disappear into a general inbox.
Audit-ready traceability reports
Every sensor reading is stored with a tamper-evident timestamp. FSSAI, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and retailer audit formats export on demand — without manual data pulls before each inspection.
ERP and WMS write-back on confirmed excursions
A confirmed excursion automatically raises a hold flag in your WMS and a non-conformance record in your ERP, so product that failed the chain does not ship on the next order.
Predictive breach detection on managed fleets
For fixed routes and managed fleets, the model forecasts likely breach windows from ambient temperature trends and equipment history — flagging risk before the sensor crosses threshold.
Dogfooding
We run our own operation on the AI we build
Banao is a ~300-person engineering company. InterviewGod screens every hire we make; Vikaas runs our own demand-gen pipeline. We do not advise on AI from the outside — we depend on it to run our own business.
A cold-chain system that routes alerts in the middle of the night and holds bad product before it ships has to be reliable at 3 a.m., not just in a demo. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one we bring to your supply chain.
Screens Banao's own engineering hires every week.
Runs Banao's own demand-gen pipeline end to end.
The honest version
When cold-chain AI is not the answer
Sensor data only tells you what happened. We will say so before you invest:
- Carrier blind spots: if your third-party carriers don't share telemetry, the system can't see in-transit excursions. We audit data availability in week one and tell you plainly if a carrier gap makes the build incomplete.
- Low shipment volume: below a certain cadence, a manual logger review is cheaper than a monitored platform. We will tell you the threshold for your business.
- Detection versus prevention: the system catches breaches as they happen — it does not fix equipment that is failing. If your refrigeration estate is deteriorating, an alert buys you hours; maintenance buys you compliance.
How we start
How we start — map the chain before we instrument it
Cold-chain compliance has many moving parts. We scope the integration before we quote the build.

AI Discovery Sprint
2 weeks · fixed price
We audit your sensor estate, carrier data feeds, and WMS/ERP landscape, then design the alert routing and excursion rules for your product categories. You receive a gap analysis, integration architecture, and ROI model — yours to keep. If you proceed to build, the Sprint fee is credited.
- 02
Build
Sensor ingestion, rules engine, alert routing, traceability store, and ERP/WMS write-back, integrated with your logistics and warehouse stack. Audit export formats configured to your regulatory and retail-buyer requirements.
- 03
Production & continuous tuning
Live monitoring with on-call escalation, quarterly rules review as product categories change, and audit-format updates when regulations shift.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which sensor hardware do you support?
We ingest from any sensor that exposes data over MQTT, HTTP, or EDI — including third-party carrier telemetry and reefer unit feeds. The Discovery Sprint audits your specific devices and identifies coverage gaps before we build.
How does the system handle excursions from carriers we can't control?
The system logs and alerts on every excursion, including carrier-side ones. Alert routing notifies the carrier automatically and creates a non-conformance record with a timestamped evidence trail — which you need for any cost-recovery conversation.
What regulatory formats does it export?
We configure audit exports to FSSAI, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and major retailer audit formats at build time. Adding a new format later is a configuration change, not a rebuild.
Can it integrate with our existing WMS and ERP?
Yes. ERP and WMS write-back is a standard deliverable — we integrate with SAP, Oracle, and mid-market WMS systems. The Discovery Sprint maps the integration points for your specific stack.
How long does a typical build take?
Most builds run eight to fourteen weeks from kick-off to production go-live, depending on the number of sensor types, carrier integrations, and ERP write-back complexity. The Discovery Sprint produces a time estimate specific to your estate.
